
Micro Spring Tapping Guide 4.75mm - Reversible Guide

The Micro Spring Tapping Guide has a reversible ø4.75mm hardened guide centre point with adjustable spring pressure. The reverse end of guide is female for use with small taps which have a conical end but no centre hole.
Hardened and ground shanks and are suitable for use on a lathe, mill or drill.

How it works
Lathe:
- Grip the Guide's shank in the tailstock chuck.
- Locate nose of tap in hole to be tapped and move tailstock to engage the tapping guide's point in centre hole of the tap or tap wrench.
- Adjust tailstock to compress the guide's spring and commence tapping.
- As the hole is tapped, the guide follows the tap keeping it aligned.
Mill/Drill:
- Grip the Guide's shank in a drill chuck or collet.
- Make sure the guide is correctly aligned with the pilot hole (it should be if you just drilled it
).
- Locate nose of tap in hole to be tapped and lower the spindle to engage the tapping guide's point in centre hole of the tap or tap wrench.
- Lower the spindle further to compress the guide's spring and commence tapping.
- As the hole is tapped, the guide follows the tap keeping it aligned.
